We’ve all heard the saying: Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Well there is a new show out that takes this saying to a whole other level… The Voice. It isn’t your typical singing competition show. Instead of listening and watching the performer, the judges only get to listen to the contestant sing. That’s it! And the judges are some of the most popular music artist of today, including pop star Christina Aguilera, country singer Blake Shelton, producer Cee Lo Green, and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
It’s great to know that people are being judged based on their singing ability and not just their appearance. Many times people develop their opinion about others solely, or mostly, on physical appearance. But The Voice serves as not only a show that focuses on talent, but gives us all a better understanding of how important it is to focus on everything else that makes up a person- their talents, their words and much more. First impressions play a big part in relationships with people, and while we may not be judging a person’s singing ability, we will be basing our opinions on what we first experience of that person. But we should all take the time to look past what we first see, and hear each person’s voice.
